I have included landscape paintings done over several years. There is a progression from small 8x10" fairly realistic paintings of local scenes, to a more fractured space where"this is all happening at once." Recent paintings reflect the Anthropocene Era "....an epoch that begins when human activities have had a significant global impact on the Earth's ecosystems." I incorporate dirt, sand, twigs, plastics with dirt and paint. I am using plastic food containers as small dioramas containing natural objects and man made litter. These serve as details that draw the viewer in to focus on the scene.
My recent paintings ( 2017) are focused on the reservoir at Gardiner Pond, sketches and paintings that reflect the same place at different times of day from different perspectives.
